Grades
Australian Spotted Gum flooring may be supplied in different visual grades. Grading affects the amount of natural feature visible in the boards rather than the basic strength of the timber.
Select Grade
Select Grade provides a cleaner and more uniform appearance. Boards generally contain limited gum veins, knots and natural markings while still showing Spotted Gum’s characteristic grain and colour variation.
This grade is suited to contemporary interiors where a smoother and more consistent finish is preferred.
Standard Grade
Standard Grade offers a balance between cleaner boards and the natural character of timber. It may include moderate gum veins, small tight knots, natural colour variation and occasional feature markings.
This is a popular option for homeowners who want the warmth and individuality of Australian hardwood without an overly rustic appearance.
Feature Grade
Feature Grade highlights the natural character of Spotted Gum. Boards may display more prominent gum veins, knots, colour variation, insect trails and other naturally occurring markings.
It is well-suited to interiors where a more expressive, organic, or rustic timber appearance is desired.
Please note: Grade names and grading allowances can vary between manufacturers. Available grades for this prefinished range should be confirmed with Sydney Timber Flooring before ordering.
